We decided we would like a second cat. We already had a young cat who is just awesome. I belong to a local pet rescue page and saw a lady homing a few ginger cats. I fell in love with Mr Tigger over pictures. I was not able to go and meet him before hand as he wasn’t in town so the lady bought him into town for me to pick up, me having to take her word that he was wormed and fleaed and vaccinated. I knew he wasn’t desexed and had already booked him in to have this done before I got him. When I went to pick him up I was shown his tail, which had about 2 inches of bone exposed, all the skin around was dried, so it wasn’t a fresh injury, the lady said he had been attacked by dogs. I took him straight into the vet where we discovered it was such an old injury that his tail was dead. It was mortifying to think this poor cat had lived with this for ages. He was in a skinny condition, though reasonably healthy. He also did have worms and fleas all over him. So we fixed that up and he went on to have the end of his tail amputated and be desexed. It wasn’t a bill I was expecting, but I am so thankful I took this boy into our home. He’s such a cruisey cat and his tail has healed up very well. I am so glad I adopted a cat that so badly needed a new home. We are located in Gisborne

  1. Thank you for sharing! How lucky for Tigger that you found him. I’m so happy that his sad story turned into a happy ending! What a gorgeous boy (:
